VMS Holidays (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated as a limited liability company in Sri Lanka on the 15th November 2010 and is a subsidiary of VMS Group of companies. It was founded by Mr. A Vigneswaran who is counting over 40 years of service of which 18 years was devoted to Swiss Air. During his tenure, he was posted to Malaysia to man the Swiss Air Office in Kuala Lumpur.

Thereafter when Swiss air downgraded their operations to an offline office in Sri Lanka, he took the opportunity to establish his own company VMS Travels and Tours (Pvt) Ltd on the 12th March 1987. From 1987 to 2011 the registered office was located at the Galadari Hotel and the Branch office at Jaic Hilton, Colombo.

On the 7th June 2010, VMS Aviation Air Service (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated as a limited liability Company in Sri Lanka.

Mr. A Vigneswaran, the Chairman / Managing Director of VMS Group of Companies was awarded by IATA Agents of Sri Lanka “The Legend Award” by Chief Justice of Sri Lanka His Lordship Ashoka De Silva.

From its initial early ticketing business, the company has grown to become one of the most diversified and highly respected organizations in the country. The company received IATA accreditation in 1992 and it is ranked as one of the top ten Travel Agencies in Sri Lanka.
